Celebrating the Season in Goderich

Candlelight Ceremony

Friday, November 21, 2025 6PM at Lions Harbour Park.

A time to remember those we are not able to spend time with this holiday season.

Saturday, November 22 – Lighting of the Lights and Santa Claus Parade

Goderich Comes alive this time of year, with so many great activities taking place! Be sure to get out an enjoy the lights or take a self-guided tour of Goderich – there’s so much going on, you won’t find yourself wishing for much this holiday season!

On Saturday, November 22nd, the festivities kick off at 6:30 PM at the Courthouse Square Performance Stage. John and Melina Powers will ignite the evening with a lively outdoor concert. Adding to the cozy atmosphere, the Goderich Salvation Army will provide complimentary hot chocolate, courtesy of Tim Horton’s of Goderich.

At precisely 7:00 PM, the eagerly awaited lighting ceremony will commence. Mayor Bazinet and the rest of Town council will lead the countdown to illuminate the Festival of Lights, casting a magical glow over the town throughout the holiday season.

Following the spectacular lighting display at 7:15PM, the Santa Claus Parade will begin at the corner of West Street and Wellington. Adorned with twinkling lights, floats from Huron County businesses will parade along West Street to Courthouse Square, circle it clockwise, and proceed down South Street to Elgin Avenue where the festivities will conclude.

Goderich Tour of Lights 2025 – Sign up and Map Coming Soon

We will be publishing a map of all the wonderful light displays throughout the Town of Goderich so people can take their own “self-guided tour” of the lights. From our own municipal parks which are decorated for the season, individual homes or businesses, to outdoor displays created by service and non-profit groups, we want you to “Let Your Light Shine” and brighten the holiday season. We are asking that the displays be turned on from December 1 to at least Dec. 26 each evening from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. for people to view them. Our map will allow people to determine what order they want to see the displays and they can even view all the beautiful lights over several evenings.
