Musical entertainment on the performance stage, with a countdown to the Lighting of the Lights to get us into the festive spirit.  

Entertainment starts at 6:30PM, countdown to the lighting begins at 7PM 

The parade starts on the corner of West and Wellington Streets, heads east on West Street, clockwise around the Square, and turns down South Street, where it will disperse at Elgin Avenue. 

Many local seniors do not have family to spend the holidays with and have nothing to look forward to this Christmas. Nominate a senior to receive a gift or donate one at one of our drop-off locations around town 

Each year, the Huron County Christmas Bureau, which is organized by Rural Response for Healthy Children, fundraises to provide gift cards for local grocery stores and toy retailers to Huron County families. This ensures every family in our region has food on the table and gifts under the tree at the holidays. You can donate to the Christmas Bureau to support local families! Doors open at 11AM. Lunch is served from 11:30AM-1PM and includes soup, sandwiches, apple crisp, and tea/coffee. The cost for lunch is $15. Come, bring friends, browse, and enjoy a bake sale, Pie shoppe pies and jams, an artisan’s corner and used book sale! Proceeds support the Lakeshore UCW and the Fishes and Loaves Program.

Steve & Mary’s are spreading the holiday cheer again this year with another free community meal. Last year 24 souls were fed at Home for The Holidays event.  

They also collecting hamper donations and toys for local kids. Items can be dropped off at Steve & Mary’s On the Square.

Join us on Thursday, December 4th from 6:30-8pm for a Christmas Toy Swap. Bring in your “like new” used toys and bring home something “new.” A perfect way to knock off your children’s Christmas wish list at no cost!

Team Gingerbread Decorating at the Huron County Museum: it’s gonna be sweet!  

Can you make Huron County’s best Gingerbread house? 

Get into the holiday spirit with a creative family activity at our Holiday Open House! Gather your team of friends or family and design your very own gingerbread masterpiece.  The sessions are facilitated by Gourmet Cookie Factory. Includes tips & feedback from the expert guest instructor. 

Participating teams can choose to share a photo of their final creation to the museum’s social media for a public vote to decide Huron County’s best gingerbread house! 

Teams will bring their creations home with them. 

How it works: 

Sign up as a team (up to 4 people) 

Cost is $15 +HST per group for your team’s kit and instructions – all supplies included (Museum Members: $10 + HST)

The gingerbread building and decorating will take between 30-45 minutes. Bring your creativity and holiday cheer for a sweet time that’s perfect for all ages. Spots are limited, so be sure to register early. We can’t wait to see what you create!
